I LOVE the changing seasons from Summer to Fall! Mowing season comes to an end (PTL!) and the leaves in my neck of the woods turn into a brilliant patchwork of colors declaring the glory of God. These are pleasant changes for me.
After Fall comes Winter. There is a beauty that that season I also enjoy, but there is a bitter cold I would rather avoid. Ice and snow lead to slush on the roads. Nothing about that is pretty, but I am learning to endure it.
The seasons and weather are ever-changing. Some days you might get all 4 seasons in the same week! Isaiah promised us that God’s word never changes. It is constant in sunshine, rain, blizzards, and even hurricanes. It is the same regardless of who is in office or which team wins the championship. It is un-phased by poll numbers or trends or online petitions. It is steadfast and sure.
If you are facing changes that are pleasant, I rejoice with you today. I hope the joy that comes with those times is long-lasting and far reaching! If you are facing changes that are difficult, I hurt with you today. I hope those times don’t last a minute longer than is absolutely necessary. Whatever challenges, changes, or opportunities are before you, I hope you can find comfort in this promise from the prophet of old:
Isaiah 40:8(NKJV) The grass withers, the flower fades, But the word of our God stands forever.”
