Let's Go To The House Of The Lord!

Dear Church Family,

David declared in Psalm 122:1, “I was glad when they said to me, ‘Let’s go to the house of the Lord.’” I can identify with these words! I get excited about gathering up with God’s people to worship and fellowship. And like each of you, I have greatly missed getting to do that over these last several weeks. The worldwide COVID-19 Pandemic compelled churches throughout the land to pause public worship services and offer other options such as Live Streaming. We are now at a point in our neck of the woods where churches can reopen with certain guidelines.

Having reviewed the most recent guidelines presented by the State of WV, and consulted with various ministers, the Board of Elders at First Church of God has decided to resume public worship services on Sunday, May 17, 2020 under the following guidelines:

We will have Worship Service in the Sanctuary at 10 am.

(Sunday School, Nursery, Children’s Church, etc.… will resume at a later date)

We will practice physical distancing like its Flu Season.

(Handshakes and hugs will resume at a later time.)

We ask that you wear a mask and sanitize your hands upon entry to the building.

(Having your own mask is best. We will have a limited number on site.)

We will practice kindness from a distance.

(Smiles, waves, and kind words are always welcome!)

We will ask households sit together and maintain appropriate distancing between other households.

We will have every other pew available for seating.

We will worship through singing together lead by Praise Team/Soul Sisters.

(Choir Singing will resume at a later time)

We will worship through giving.

(Collection box in the lobby or give online:)

We will worship through the message given.

When Service is over, we will dismiss by sections.

I know gathering under these guidelines is not what we are accustomed to, and I thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation. It won’t be like this forever, but it must be this way for now.

We will continue offering our worship services online through Facebook Live, YouTube, and our website godisgoodonmahood.com for those who will not be able to attend in person for whatever reason. You are welcome to tune in, participate, and share in this way. I look forward to connecting with you in person, online, and any other way God sees fit to let our paths cross!

Lord bless,

Bro. Ray
